Villa is closing!

It was a New Year's resolution not to post any parties on this blog, but this one should be mentioned, since it is worth it.

So, the rumours were true. Last year, there were several people who spread the word that the location was shutting down for good. (*IMHO: I am sure we will see something coming up at the same spot instead sooner or later...)

Friday, the closing party will start, and Sunday, it will end. The plan was to attend Esther's show at nhow Hotel and collect the crew and go over to friends at Villa.

Even though one of the biggest label bosses commented on the Villa that it was "not really [his] thing" and to an extend, you can agree on that because the crowd really is weird sometimes, and not all of the listed DJs are actually good or have a good reputation, one must admit that the lineup includes many many well-known artists who surely get the crowd raving!

Be sure to be at the sets of Robosonic, Cinthie, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Full Nelson, Shir Khan, and not to forget Oliver Dollar, and you will have somethng to tell about the next day ;)

PS.

As you know, Villa's door will not let in anyone, even the VIP guests(!), when the house is full, so be sure you talk with your homies and make sure they can fetch you from the door before their set...!

Spreepiraten

"Why are you going on a party? Do you like the music or do you like to meet people there?"

Definately the music.

Even before the BBB-week was planned, the SpreePiraten Party at Maria was on the schedule. Chroma, whom I had met a couple of summers ago at the Tacheles yard, is going to play. Soooo much looking forward to that set, not only because it has been a while since I have last seen her, but also because the track she posted recently (with Inexcess) got pretty good feedback.

So, if you ask ME, I am definately one of the music fans and I am going to see CHROMA's set. There aren't that many DJanes out there that catch my attention, but Chroma was one of the few, and actually the first I spotted in Berlin. Right now a family member of Stil vor Talent, the label of Oliver Koletzki, she is looking forward to an even better carreer. I am sure you will hear from her soon.

There are names on the line up list on Saturday including Fritz Kalkbrenner (OK, got more attention after his brother appeared in Berlin Calling...), Sascha Braemer (whose birthday party at Rosi's was a blast!), AKA AKA (not sure about this) and Channel X (who played after Oliver Dollar and Justin Martin last NYE), Squim (whom you see around a lot these days) and Cinthie (one DJane that surely gets the crowd rockin'!) - I guess this implies that the party will be great all in all.
